Small-Group Counseling

Typically, small-group counseling in the Dubuque Community School District are six to eight weeks in length with groups of three to seven students. Small groups are formed as needs arise in the areas of academic, career and social skills. Some examples of small groups may include the following areas, but are not limited to:

  • Social skills
  • Self-regulation
  • Anger management
  • Divorce
  • Grief and loss
  • Mental Health issues
  • School success – study skills, test taking, organizational skills, time management and on-task skills
