The Dubuque Community School District will host its next “School Speak” event at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, at the district’s administrative offices at 2300 Chaney Road.

The forum, designed to provide additional opportunities for conversation between administrators and community members, will begin with a presentation about school funding, its importance to the district and the role supplemental state aid plays in budgeting.

The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session about school funding or any other school-district-related issue.

“The first School Speak event in November was very well received and we look forward to having another conversation with community members about issues that are important to education in Dubuque,” said Superintendent Stan Rheingans. “There is no more pressing issue currently at the legislative level than school funding, so the topic is very timely and it impacts every family in the Dubuque Community School District.”
