Dubuque Public High Schools Name Valedictorians and Salutatorians

Each year, Senior High School and Hempstead High School recognize the graduates who have achieved the highest academic rank in their class. The student with the highest rank is named the class valedictorian and the student with the second-highest rank is named the salutatorian. Dubuque Community Schools Receive Financial Reporting Award

The Dubuque Community School District has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) for having met or exceeded the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability. Dubuque Community School District Event Cancellations, May 3

Due to inclement weather, the following athletic events in the Dubuque Community School District are canceled for today, Friday, May 3:

  • The Women’s Varsity City Golf Meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, May 13, at the Dubuque Golf and Country Club.
  • The Dubuque Senior men’s varsity and sophomore soccer games vs. Cedar Falls have been rescheduled for Monday, May 6, at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.
  • The Dubuque Senior women’s varsity and junior varsity soccer games vs. Cedar Falls have been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 22, at Dalzell Field.
  • The Hempstead men’s varsity soccer game vs. Cedar Falls has been canceled. A make-up date, if any, has not been determined.
  • The Hempstead women’s varsity soccer vs. Cedar Falls (previously moved to the Hempstead turf field) has been canceled. A make-up date, if any, has not been determined.

Dubuque Community School District Event Cancellations, May 2

]Due to inclement weather, the following athletic events in the Dubuque Community School District are canceled or have adjusted schedules for today, Thursday, May 2:

  • The Mississippi Valley Conference Divisional Track Meet has been postponed to its scheduled time on Monday, May 6, at Dalzell Field.
  • The Senior High School Women’s Soccer Game has been moved to Dalzell Field at 5 p.m. today.
  • The Middle School Track Meeting scheduled at Hempstead High School has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
  • The Senior High School Women’s Golf Meet is canceled and will not be rescheduled.
  • Senior High School Men’s and Women’s Tennis have both been canceled.
  • Hempstead High School Women’s Tennis has been canceled.
  • The fourth grade Go the Distance Day (GTDD) event scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, May 3, will now be held on Monday, May 6, its scheduled same time.
