Public Library Student Access

ONE Card, MORE Access!

The Dubuque Community School District is excited to announce a new partnership with the Carnegie-Stout Public Library (CSPL) and Dubuque County Library District (DCLD) to provide middle and high school students access to more educational resources.

Public Library Partner Logos: Carnegie-Stout Public Library and Dubuque Community Library DistrictStudents in grades 6-12 are now able to use their Student ID card as their library card to check out print materials in person and access a variety of digital materials online. 

Students with a home address in Dubuque will access materials at:

Students with a home address in Asbury or Dubuque County will access materials at:

Dubuque County Library District

Students with a home address outside of Dubuque County may access materials at either library.


How do students get started?

To check out materials IN PERSON, students will simply present their Student ID card.

To access materials ONLINE, students will first need to set up an account on their library website.

Students will use their district username to set up their library account. Additional resources available through the library may require different login procedures, which are noted on the above webpage.

Dubuque County Library District

Where do students go to access materials?

Students with a home address in Dubuque will access materials at:

Carnegie-Stout Public Library

What educational resources does the district provide students?

All Dubuque Community School District students have access to the district’s print and digital resources through Destiny, the district’s online library management system, using an online library search available on the district website and their school website. Students also have access to educational resources from Keystone AEA through MackinVIA that is available through Canvas.

Parents/guardians who do not wish for their student to participate in the Public Library Student Access Program may opt-out by completing the Program Opt-Out Form available online at www.dbqschools.org/public-library-student-access/opt-out.
