Summer Academy
The Dubuque Community School District will offer a Summer Academy for students enrolled in the district in Grades 1 and 2 during the 2019-2020 school year. Enrollment is by invitation only and is offered to students who have been designated as persistently at risk in reading progress based on their early literacy scores.
The Summer Academy is a FREE learning experience designed to give students a reading-focused morning.
Online registrations are no longer being accepted
THE PROGRAM
Reading instruction is delivered Monday through Friday mornings by certified district teachers.
THE DATES
Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 24, 2020
THE LOCATIONS
If your student attends Carver, Eisenhower, Hoover, Irving, Kennedy or Sageville Elementary School, they can attend Summer Academy at CARVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
If your student attends Audubon, Bryant, Fulton, Lincoln, Marshall, Prescott or Table Mound Elementary School, they can attend Summer Academy at PRESCOTT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
PLEASE NOTE
ENHANCED SAFETY PROCEDURES will be put in place for students in alignment with guidance from the Iowa Department of Education and the Iowa Department of Public Health.
These procedures may include:
- Daily temperature checks
- Distancing of students and staff during instruction
- Regular hand washing/sanitizing
- Use of face masks
THERE WILL NOT BE EXTENDED CARE OR TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED THIS YEAR.
