In honor of the 75th anniversary of its opening, Bryant Elementary School will host the “Bryant Bulldog Walk-A-Round” on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at the school. The event will feature games, activities, door prizes, an open house, snacks and more. Attendees are also invited to tour the school building. Admission, activities and food are all free.

Organized and hosted by the Bryant Family Organization (BFO), 100 percent of proceeds from this walk fundraiser and community open house will be used by the BFO to benefit Bryant students. In the past the BFO has provided the school with equipment, supplies and services that enhance teaching and learning, fieldwork experiences in the community and technology devices for students.

“The Bryant Family Organization provides tremendous support to our school and this event is a key component of the group’s fundraising efforts,” said Vicki Sullivan, principal of Bryant Elementary School. “The event is equally about current and past Bryant families reuniting with a sense of pride in all that the school has accomplished during its 75 years of existence. It is a significant milestone for us.”

This year’s walk-a-round is an effort to redesign the fundraising efforts of the BFO by moving into walking event format rather than organizing fundraisers that include selling merchandise or discount cards.

The BFO is actively seeking business partners for the event. Current business partners include: American Trust and Savings Bank, Austin Reed DDS/Peosta Dental, Cremer’s Grocery, DuTrac Community Credit Union, Envision Sports Design, Exact Pest Control, Hamel Sodding and Landscaping, Hy-Vee, O’Connor and Thomas PC, Prairie Farms, Theisen’s and Zuccaro Dental.
