Classes are canceled and schools are closed in the Dubuque Community School District on Tuesday, February 2, due to approaching inclement weather and the Winter Storm Warning advising travel only in an emergency through the remainder of the day.
The following events in the district have also been postponed:
- The School Board’s Educational Programs/Policy/Strategy Committee meeting scheduled for today has been postponed until Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m.
- The Dubuque Senior High School boys basketball game vs. Waterloo West is postponed until Saturday, Feb. 13, at Senior’s Nora Gymnasium. The sophomore game will begin at 3 p.m. and the varsity game will begin at 4:30 p.m. The freshman game will not be made-up, but the freshman game scheduled against Bettendorf at 10 a.m. on February 13 will be held as scheduled.
- The Hempstead High School sophomore and varsity basketball vs. Linn-Mar games are postponed, with a new date to be determined.
- The Hempstead freshman basketball game vs. Cedar Rapids Kennedy is postponed, with a new date to be determined.
- All middle school basketball games are postponed.
