Washington Middle School will host a community education presentation featuring a speaker addressing mental health awareness and suicide prevention. The event will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 6:30 p.m. in Washington Middle School’s Roling Auditorium. Admission is free.

The event is sponsored by Duck Cup Memorial, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. The evening will feature Colin, who will share his own powerful story of his struggles with anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. Through honesty and support, Colin found healing, is in college and is loving life. His story shares that it’s okay to not be okay and that there is always hope.

This Duck Cup Memorial event comes in conjunction with Colin visiting Washington Middle School students on January 16 to share a student-focused message on the topic.
