Shine like the sun and make a difference at your library and in the community through art! Participants will work on a variety of volunteering projects while providing feedback on making the library a welcoming space for tweens/teens. Snacks, giveaways, your ideas matter.

Celebrate National Blueberry Pancake Day with a delicious twist! We will make our own blueberry pancakes while reading stories about pancakes! Registration is required for all participants.

Brigid's Flame will bring the tri-state community together to experience the joy and creativity of community singing, dancing, storytelling, silence, and puppetry!

Drop-in the library's third floor to explore booths from local gardening businesses and organizations, gather inspiration, and plan your garden for the season ahead. Participating organizations will be sharing seeds, and participants are welcome to contribute their own at our Community Seed Table.

The Clarke University Softball Team is hosting 2 Winter Camps! Prospect Camp: January 31st, 2026 Youth Camp: February 1st, 2026

A funny, sweet, rollicking good time that celebrates art, friendship, creative thinking, and of course, pancakes! This stage adaptation of the classic children's book series is perfect your young audiences and the young at heart. Running Time: approximately 1 hour with no intermission.

What’s slimy, warty and jumpy? Frogs of course! Hop on down to the River Museum to become a frog expert. We’ll explore the stages of metamorphosis, conduct our own “frog chorus,” meet some live toads and learn all about the Wyoming Toads. You’ll toad-ally be in love with frogs after this camp!

Cute, fuzzy, and totally customizable! Create mini pom pom critters using yarn, glue, and accessories. Registration is required.

What do you collect or create? We want to see it! Showcase your passions and inspire the community by hosting a table at the Carnegie-Stout Public Library Hobby Fair & Craft Supply Swap! Applications are due Friday 2/6. Event is Saturday, 2/14 from 1-3 pm. Apply in-person at the library or online.

Join faces&voices for this annual celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast served at 7 a.m.; program begins at 7:30 a.m. Children are encouraged to attend! Activities related to the day's topics will be available for youth attendees age 10 and younger.

Calling all artists (and those who would like to be an artist)! What do polar bears, skunks, chocolates, blackberries, black holes, shadows and sunglasses all have in common? We will recreate these images using black beans and our imaginations. Bring on the masterpieces! Registration is required.

Celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day by visiting the library and seeing all the fun things you can do here. There will be scheduled and self-guided activities throughout the library for families to explore together. Stop by and have some fun!

Memorabilia from the John Fox Collection will be displayed during the event. Some items from the collection include a Hank Aaron signed baseball, a Michael Jordan signed basketball, a Dan Marino signed football. Card dealers may reserve a table for $20. Admission to the event is free.

Join us at the University of Dubuque Youth Baseball Camp, open to kids in K–8th grade! Whether your child is just starting out or already plays, they’ll leave with better skills, more confidence, and a great experience on the field. Campers will learn skills taught by college coaches and players.

Mindful Musicians drop-in classes are being offered this winter. Classes are for 0-6 year-olds with a caregiver. Mindful Musicians programming is confidence-building through creativity. Families will explore instruments, sing original songs designed to boost positive self-talk and have fun together!

The library’s Bee-bots have been transported to a fairy tale land. Help them solve puzzles and gain the tools to become knights in order to defeat the dragon. Kids problem-solve, plan, and explore storytelling through technology. Registration is required.

From crafting wooden boats to building picture frames, campers will use real tools and materials to bring their own creations to life. We’ll also go behind the scenes with the our exhibit team for an exclusive tour of their workshop and we'll learn how they bring exhibits from blueprint to reality.

What’s for lunch in the animal kingdom? At this camp, we’ll sink our teeth into the world of herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores! Campers will explore how different animals eat, hunt, graze, and survive—whether they’re munching on plants, chasing prey, or enjoying a little of both.

Get crafty while helping our feathered friends! Build a simple bird feeder using everyday supplies. Registration is required.

Registration for the 2026 baseball season is now open at dbqpony.org! Registration deadlines are February 23 for 14U division; March 16 for 12U, 10U, 8U; and April 13 for 6U Tee Ball. All kids in the tri-state area ages 4-14 are eligible to participate. Baseball season will be April through June.

Dogs love stories but can’t read to themselves! Children in grades K through 3 are welcome to read a short book to a dog. A volunteer will also be available to read aloud to younger children and/or children who want to listen to stories while reading to the pets. Registration is not required.

A StoryWalk is a fun, educational, activity that places the pages of a book along a popular walking route. StoryWalk combines the joy of reading with all the benefits of being active outside. Located at the 22nd Street Bee Branch Greenway and at the Dubuque Arboretum.
