…and Cathy Cat is the winner!
Kindergartners from Carver Elementary School participated in their own election today — voting for their favorite pet.
Complete with a platform of issues, each candidate presented their case and students headed to the polls. Just like at real polling places, the students signed in (which is good writing practice!) and verified their address (another important thing to know!).
Then, they headed to the voting booth to cast their ballot. Today, these young students learned a lesson about our democracy and reinforced skills they are learning each day. In the end, everyone was a winner!
While yellow school buses are common, it’s not everyday a helicopter lands at school.
