]Due to inclement weather, the following athletic events in the Dubuque Community School District are canceled or have adjusted schedules for today, Thursday, May 2:

• The Mississippi Valley Conference Divisional Track Meet has been postponed to its scheduled time on Monday, May 6, at Dalzell Field.
• The Senior High School Women’s Soccer Game has been moved to Dalzell Field at 5 p.m. today.
• The Middle School Track Meeting scheduled at Hempstead High School has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
• The Senior High School Women’s Golf Meet is canceled and will not be rescheduled.
• Senior High School Men’s and Women’s Tennis have both been canceled.
• Hempstead High School Women’s Tennis has been canceled.
• The fourth grade Go the Distance Day (GTDD) event scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, May 3, will now be held on Monday, May 6, its scheduled same time.

Hempstead High School and Dubuque Senior High School will host the first event in #BeInformed, a series designed to educate parents about issues facing their high school students, on Thursday, October 4, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Hempstead High School Auditorium Center Pod. The first event, which is free and open to the public, will focus on the topic of Internet safety, cyber bullying and sexting. The Dubuque Community School District will host two sessions to introduce parents to the district’s new LEAD21 literacy program. The sessions will be held at Thursday, Sept. 20, with one beginning at 5:45 p.m. at Marshall Elementary School and a second beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Carver Elementary School. The Dubuque Community School District and the Dubuque Community School District Foundation will again partner to host “Kinderpalooza II,” a health and community services fair, on Thursday, September 6, from 3-6 p.m. at the Five Flags Center. The fair, in its second year, is designed for children of all ages and families to learn about various community resources available to them.
