Senior High School brings home three All-State Speech Critic’s Choice banners
You might say it has been another banner year for the Dubuque Senior High School speech team.
Three of the team’s ensembles (in Group Mime, Musical Theatre, and Radio Broadcasting) claimed the Critic’s Choice Banners, presented by a theater professional to the top performance of the day in each of the 12 categories at the Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) Large Group All-State Festival. The festival was held on February 22 at Iowa State University and 69 students represented Senior at the state’s flagship group speech event.

Two-Hour Delay, Thursday, Feb. 19
Due to extreme cold, the Dubuque Community School District will operate on a two-hour delay on Thursday, February 19.
All district-run morning pre-school is cancelled.

District Prepares for 2015 Kindergarten Welcome Events
Preparing for kindergarten is an exciting time for children and parents alike. To help ease the transition, schools in the Dubuque Community School District are holding a series of Kindergarten Welcome Events to allow students and families get acquainted with their school and its staff in preparation for the 2015-16 school year.
At the welcome event, attendees will meet the school’s kindergarten teachers, the school principal and other school staff. There will be an overview of the school as well as overview of the registration process.

No School Monday, Feb. 2
Classes are canceled and schools are closed in the Dubuque Community School District on Monday, February 2, due to inclement weather. The preschool registration scheduled for Monday will be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 3.
Lincoln Elementary School Vendor Fair Postponed
Due to adverse weather, the Lincoln Elementary School Vendor Fair scheduled for today, Sunday, Feb. 1, from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. will be rescheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8, at the same time in the school’s gymnasium.
Lincoln Elementary to Host Vendor Fair This Sunday, Feb. 1
Lincoln Elementary School will host its annual Vendor Fair on Sunday, Feb. 1, from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium. Admission to the fair is free and the public is invited to attend.
