With a 240-square-mile footprint and 24 district buildings encompassing almost 1.7 million square feet, the Dubuque Community School District is a mix of historic school buildings and modern, new facilities.

Statewide, schools benefit from one-cent sales tax funding that is restricted for infrastructure and technology projects. Since its inception, Dubuque alone has benefitted from over $185 million in funding, which has provided for new schools, updated facilities, safety enhancements and greater access to technology – all important needs as the district works to provide a first-class education to the more than 10,500 students we serve. Additional funds for facilities enhancement come through the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL).
