District to Begin New Visitor Protocol, Feb. 3
The Dubuque Community School District will implement an additional safety measure on February 3 when the district begins using the Raptor Visitor Management System across the district. Carver Elementary School Only School in Iowa to Receive $10,000 Grant from Code.org
Dubuque’s Carver Elementary School has been selected to receive $10,000 in computer equipment from Code.org as part of the school’s participation in the national “Hour of Code” program during Computer Science Education Week from December 9-15. Each year, Senior High School and Hempstead High School recognize the graduates who have achieved the highest academic rank in their class. The student with the highest rank is named the class valedictorian and the student with the second-highest rank is named the salutatorian. The thoughts and prayers of the Dubuque Community School District are with those in Newtown, Connecticut impacted by today’s tragic school shooting.
We know that there are no words to provide comfort in the wake of today’s events, yet we also know the power of school communities to unite in overcoming adversity.
