Career Exploration Architecture and Construction Cluster IconDo you love working with your hands and bringing a vision to life? A career designing and building of homes, roads and other structures could be for you. According to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook in architecture and construction is expected to see above-average growth through 2028, with the largest growth in the construction segment. More than half of the jobs in this cluster require a high school diploma or equivalent, plus some additional on-the-job or specialized training. There are also some occupations that require two-year, four-year or graduate degrees.

Using an investigative, discovery-based learning process, students better understand themselves, their future career options, and the 21st century skills they’ll need to succeed.

The Future Ready Iowa website directly connects students to tools for finding education, training and jobs beyond high school. It uses Labor Market Information to identify the number of jobs, the average median income and what training is required within a geographically determined distance.
